Welcome to the website for the book "Banking With Dillinger" By Carol Sissom

Reader Reviews

The world would come to know him as Public Enemy Number One in 1934,Tony Stewart, 7ony Stewart but "Nobody," knew John Dillinger, the man, better than his family. Carol Sissom teams up with Mike Thompson (son of Frances Dillinger) to bring fourth the first story ever told by a direct descendant of the Dillinger family. Frances Dillinger is the only living relative alive today who was close to her big brother, Johnnie Dillinger. He was a kind, compassionate bank robber, who winked at the women, flipped a quarter to the children, and enjoyed home cooked meals with family. Banking with Dillinger contains several rare unpublished photographs of John Dillinger and his family of the past and present, and some good old family recipes. This book is highly recommended!

7ony Stewart,
Author of: Dillinger, The Hidden Truth,
Great nephew of Beryl Ethel Hovious (John Dillinger's ONLY wife)

All ThreeHi Carol,

Thanks for coming to D.I.L.C. last evening.  I was fascinated by the story.  I have to apologize for the quality of the phone photos.  But at least you have the photos.  Enjoy!

Dear Carol,

Thanks for visiting our school last night.  I'm sorry that more people didn't come.  You and Travis were very interesting to listen to.  I wanted to hear more about how you solved the LaSalle Street murders.  I found that book to be very fascinating.

Take care,

Suzy Elliott

Hi Mike,

I finished reading the book and found it wonderfully illuminating John Dillinger, inheritently a very good man. I love how the book ends with your quote imagining John being an average guy with a family, lots of kids and a job on the other side of the bank - serving as your local banker or mortgage officer. In fact I just left my bank this afternoon and just realized (unbeknownst to me at the time) John was smiling at me through the eyes of the bank teller! The power of a good man with a sincere heart! In not so many words I believe yours and Carol's book asks the reader this important question: have you accepted John Dillinger as your personal banker? I'm afraid to say it - I do!

Thanks again for being my personal tour guide (via cell phone) through Mooresville last Saturday and letting me know where to buy the book. I hope your book signing went well. There is spirit of profound joy in John's story (for those that can forgive!)

Best to you, your mother and son and Carol.

Carol,
I'm a big fan of yours and have purchased LaSalle Street Murders Part I and II.  I purchased these when you did guest book signings here at University Hospital.  I was checking out your website and found the Banking with John Dillinger webpage.  I saw on there you have listed a LaSalle Street Murders Part III.  Has this been published yet?  If so, how can I get a copy?
Hope all is well with you.  Have a great day!

Dawn
